Individuals responsible for supervising, testing, or recording data for cathodic protection (CP) systems, including CP field personnel and technicians. This is the entry point into the CP profession.

Prerequisites & Certification Path

A high school diploma or GED is required.

A minimum of 6 months of CP-related work experience.

The ability to perform basic math calculations.

Fundamentals of corrosion theory (30-40% of exam)

Performing field tests such as structure-to-soil potentials, voltage/current measurements, and soil resistivity

Using and reading test instruments, including pipe/cable locators and rectifiers
